Our 360 approach offers bespoke solutions for each wine. In this way, working with our partners, we develop their long-term distribution strategy with a particular focus on 4 key roles :
Impartial and expert of the system, we guide our clients through La Place de Bordeaux. We offer advice and suggest a selection of wine merchants (négociants) as part of a tailor-made distribution strategy. We bring our expertise in terms of sales monitoring and pricing policies.
We are the central point of contact in La Place de Bordeaux. From the agreement of the parties to the delivery, we oversee and guarantee the successful completion of the transaction. We draw up the contract (bordereau de transaction) and ensure it is executed correctly.
In collaboration with our partner estates, we create brand platforms to develop a positioning and image based on their values and their DNA. We also support the producers in their communication with the media, the opinion leaders and the press.
By providing visibility for their wines before they are released and throughout the sales process, we are true advocates of the producers among all our contacts on La Place de Bordeaux. Tastings and trainings are essential elements of the support we provide to our clients.
A unique triangle formed by the producer, the wine merchants and the courtier (broker) who work together to promote and distribute the wines.
Today, La Place releases “Beyond-Bordeaux” wines, offering them a sharp, highly organized system.
Serving both producers and buyers, the broker is someone who can be trusted, a person of wise counsel, both a confidant and consultant.
For us, it is essential to bring an external viewpoint to the everyday life of a wine estate: from the tasting of the wines and their promotion to commercial strategy, always with a long-term vision.
The broker intervenes in strategic and commercial matters playing a fundamental role as an intermediary in transactions.
The brokerage profession in La Place de Bordeaux has been codified by Philippe Le Bel’s ordinance in 1321, and is the only one currently regulated by law. Brokers have a duty to act honourably, show integrity, good character and honesty.
This orientation legitimises, if necessary, their function as arbitrator, expert, and above all mediator.
What makes us different? 112 years as a family firm that stands out for its long-term commercial commitments, both with producers and with wine merchants. Moreover, as owners of a wine estate ourselves, we readily understand the challenges faced by our producer partners.
François Lévêque
The « Bureau Lévêque – Grands Vins du Monde » adventure began with the iconic Ao Yun, China’s greatest fine wine owned by the LVMH group (press article), when it was introduced to La Place in March 2022.
With strong connections in Champagne, the Rhône Valley, Italy and all the world’s great terroirs, Bureau Lévêque – Grands Vins du Monde stands out for its support of exceptional estates with a unique identity.
After five years spent in Hong Kong, Margaux Brengel returned to live in Bordeaux, where she met Caroline and François Lévêque. They hired her to develop their new division: Grands Vins du Monde.
Margaux has been managing the strategy of this « Beyond Bordeaux » department since November 2021, supporting producers in their distribution development on La Place.
Previously, Margaux worked for Moët Hennessy (LVMH group) for eight years. As a true ambassador, she represented their seven iconic estates (Cloudy Bay, Ao Yun, Cheval des Andes, Terrazas de los Andes, Cape Mentelle, Newton, and Bodega Numanthia) and contributed to their sales success throughout the Asia Pacific region for five years.
Since 1910, we have been committed to openness and modernity, providing our customers with innovative solutions and utmost care. With our knowledge and experience, we are able to offer tailor-made services for our clients and help them face the challenges they encounter on a daily basis.
